China Info

We're living in northeast China. The climate is comparable to Chicago, which means cold winters! The time difference (depending on daylight savings) is 13 hours ahead, meaning 6 a.m. in Texas is 7 p.m. in China.
The group we're working with is a registered charitable non-profit that has been active in northeast China for more than 25 years. It has a vision to serve people with disabilities through health care, job placement and community development. It facilitates surgeries, seminars and clinics by short-term medical teams (doctors, dentists, optometrists). It provides Chinese staff with a salary; foreign staff members like us need to raise support. It has a foster care program and hosts an annual family retreat for children with disabilities and their families to attend and receive respite from the challenges of daily life. It partners with Joni and Friends, the global group Joni Eareckson Tada established, to distribute wheelchairs and provide needed resources.
