Mother's Day Camp

While I (Kevin) was leading the parent group during this day camp, the volunteers helped the children make Mother’s Day cards. In addition, each child received a carnation. So after we all gave the mothers applause, the children gave their mothers their Mother’s Day card and a red carnation. For most people there, including the volunteers and representatives of the business who were allowing us to use the venue for free, this was a very meaningful experience. The businessmen said, “We’ve never seen anything like this before.” But most importantly, the mothers were deeply touched. Likely, most of these mothers had previously never received any kind of Mother’s Day gift from their children. It was a privilege to be a part.
